Spill Stop Valves

A Spill Stop Valve is mainly designed for floating roof storage tanks and can save you money and headaches in the case of a hydrocarbon spill! It’s function is to detect hydrocarbons in roof drain system to automatically close the valve and protect the surrounding environment.

When the Spill Stop Valve is in operation it does allow non-hydrocarbon liquids and rainwater to flow through. If a hydrocarbon liquid is to flow through the valve, the sensing element will dissolve and the valve will close, in turn stopping the leak and safeguarding the environment.

Our Spill Stop Valve has been designed to be a low maintenance and operator friendly design. After a leak has been detected, the repair is as simple as flushing the remaining hydrocarbon from the drainage and replacing the sensing element to reset the valve.

The Spill Stop Valve is made in the standard 4” 150 pound flange and 6” 150 pound flange, along with other available options. If you want your Spill Stop Valve to be monitored by a control room, we can install the brackets to hold a proximity switch.
